April 2nd - 10th Henrik's in Afghanistans wartorn Helmand province doing principal photography for the new multimedia documentary "The Afghan Diaries" - a documentary about two danish grunts in the heat and dust of a war far from home.
18 months hard work as staffer at 24 Timer ends on April 1st 2008, and Henrik's back freelancing.
Tine's on maternity leave until August 2008
We've spent most of November on the island Anguilla in the caribbean.
1st of August: Henrik's hired as a staff photographer for the daily, "24 Timer".
26th of June: Done! Exams over, diplomas handed out. Got a nomination for "Best foreign Assignment" together with journalist Thomas Lund Hansen for "The Poison in the Veins", but alas! We lost to a thesis on the journalistic culture in Washington DC...
June: Spent most of June in Kosovo/Mitroviça preparing a new book: "The Poison in the Veins" about a group of roma left behind in lead poisoned refugee camps outside Mitroviça, Kosovo after the NATO lead campaiagn against the serb genocide in Kosovo.
7th of April: Back from a 48 hour stint in Kent, England, doing a series on Landrover 4x4 driving for danish lifestyle mag MUST. Check out the imagery: http://www.fotoco.dk.plesk300.jepponet.dk/admin/serie_edit.php?ID_serie=70
21st of March: Yeah! "The Ardoyne Suicides recieves yet another second prize. This time in NPPA's "Best of Photojournalism". This completes a fantastic applause for the documentary, that in early March got accepted at the respected journalistic site www.onlinenarratives.org. 3rd of March: "The Ardoyne Suicides" recieved a second place in the multimedia category in the danish Picture of the Year competition. Cool to see that a story which I've followed for almost two years came across so well. Now I can say, that I've done all I could!
14th of January: Just returned from Anguilla in the british West Indies after a ten day assignment for MM Resorts. A wee bit different from the usual kind of assignments and locations , but a very welcome one!
10th of January: Henrik has been nominated in the Picture of the Year competition in Denmark for the second year in a row.
8th of January: Premiering "The Ardoyne Suicides"! The web-documentary from Belfast is finished in danish and after some trial-runs in late December it is ready and enters the competition for Picture of the Year in Denmark and in POYI 63 in the US. You can watch it here:
12th of December and christmas is approaching. Henrik returned from Belfast in late November and went straight into edit-mode. The web-doc was handed over on the 9th of December and now only small fixes and bug hunting is left. expect the doc to premiere here on this site on Dec. 22.
20th of November: Henrik is going to Belfast in Northern Ireland to do
another web feature. This time about an alleged suicide spree that took
place in the Ardoyne district of Belfast in the beginning of 2004.
October 15: Uploading new imagery from the Gaza trip...
On October 13th, Tine returned from the States after almost two weeks
of inspiration and hard work in both New York and Jeffersonville.
In October Tine is going to USA to participate in the Eddie Adams Barnstorm workshop.
